Kristie McGlaughlin
I believe good design is about more than making things look good. It’s about helping people understand, connect, and take action.
I’ve been designing communication systems almost by accident ever since I was 19. A handful of ads needed to be created for our college newspaper, the deadline was looming, and because I knew the software, I volunteered to help. To my surprise, I loved it! There was something deeply satisfying about taking someone’s ideas, goals, and information and shaping them into something both clear and engaging.
Since then, I’ve partnered with organizations to create communication systems across print and digital media. My twenty-three years at Worthington Christian Church stretched me in new ways while providing me the opportunity to be part of something greater than myself. During my tenure there, I learned that whether I’m designing a website, producing a publication, or collaborating with stakeholders on a communication campaign, I genuinely enjoy bringing structure to complex information and transforming ideas into clear, effective communication.
